An unconventional evolution
I read natural sciences at Cambridge University, then took a PhD in paleontology and comparative anatomy. Here I refined my craft through meticulous illustrations to support the study of skeletons and musculature. My postgraduate career was in medical education, combining words and pictures for audiences ranging from patients to consultants. At night, I paid my artistic dues in the life studio. It is these twenty years of diverse experience that I bring to my painting today.

Profile
I grew up within earshot of the surf at Constantine Bay in Cornwall. After some years in Hertfordshire, I’ve recently returned to the coast, near Kingsbridge in the South Hams of Devon.
