Recreating the immediacy of the moment
Occasionally, I revisit a life drawing in the studio and work it up as a monoprint. I use very fluid watercolour or acrylic transferred from glass, and draw quickly over it with ink or paint, ‘Standing Girl’ was the winner of the Herts Open.
Playing fast and loose
Working at speed is a way to try to recreate the fleeting moments of the original pose.
